HEAD Kaliber 140/130 MV GW BOA2 – precision performance ski boots

HEAD Kaliber 140/130 MV GW BOA2 is a high-performance alpine ski boot for advanced and expert skiers who want powerful support, precise energy transfer and a secure fit at speed. The adjustable 140/130 flex gives strong skiers the option to tune the boot’s stiffness to their preferences, skiing style and conditions.

The defining feature is the dual BOA® system. Separate adjustment zones allow fine, repeatable tension around the lower foot and upper cuff. Instead of concentrating pressure at a few buckle points, BOA is designed to distribute closure more evenly and make small fit adjustments quick to perform during a ski day.

Why choose HEAD Kaliber 140/130 MV GW BOA2?

The mid-volume MV fit is aimed at skiers who want performance-level foot retention without moving to an extremely narrow race shell. Around size 26.5, the last is approximately 100 mm and the stated volume is 1850 cm³. These figures are useful references, but instep height, heel shape and overall foot geometry are equally important when choosing a performance boot.

The bi-injected PU shell works with HEAD’s Form Fit concept for further shell customization. Inside, the 3D Synapse Pro liner uses Graphene fibres and is designed around an anatomical performance fit.

Dual BOA, Form Fit and GripWalk

HEAD Kaliber 140/130 MV GW BOA2 combines dual BOA closure with a GripWalk sole for easier walking away from the skis. When using GripWalk soles, bindings must be GripWalk or Multi Norm compatible. Always confirm binding compatibility before clicking into the ski.

Race Balance geometry uses a 12° forward lean and 4° heel lift. This places the skier in an active position for loading the front of the ski, building pressure through the turn and moving quickly from edge to edge.

Who is this ski boot for?

This model is best suited to technically competent skiers who already know they prefer a firm, responsive boot. A 140/130 flex can be demanding for lighter or less experienced skiers, while stronger advanced skiers may benefit from the additional support when forces increase at higher speed.

If you are uncertain about size or volume, a professional boot fitting is strongly recommended. You can also compare the HEAD Kaliber 10 R MV GW.

Fit matters more than the number on the box

A performance boot only works properly when the shell length, width and volume match the skier. A boot that is too long allows unwanted movement, while a boot that is excessively tight in the wrong areas can create pressure without improving control. HEAD Kaliber 140/130 MV GW BOA2 should therefore be selected after careful foot measurement and, when needed, professional shell or liner adjustment.

More information about HEAD boot technologies is available from the official HEAD website. Correct binding setup, sole compatibility and professional fitting all help the skier get the intended performance from this boot.

Frequently asked questions

Is flex 140/130 suitable for everyone? No. It is a firm performance flex, generally intended for strong and experienced skiers. Lighter or developing skiers often perform better in a softer boot that they can flex correctly.

What does MV mean? MV means mid volume. It describes the general fit category, but it does not replace trying the boot because heel width, instep height and foot shape vary considerably.

What is the benefit of dual BOA? Dual BOA gives two independently adjustable zones and very small tension increments, making it easier to fine-tune retention throughout the day.
