HOLMENKOL Profi Edger is an adjustable ergonomic edge guide with a file and bearings, designed for sharpening the side edges of skis and snowboards. The guide includes a coarse Cut 0 file. The part that contacts the base is equipped with bearings that protect the base from scratches and allow the file to glide more smoothly.
Adjustable angle from 90° to 85°. Suitable for oxide stones, coarse files and diamond files.
Included ICECUT file: 80 × 20 mm, coarse, Cut 0
Recommended Edge Angles
- 86° – for very good and powerful skiers who want maximum edge responsiveness. Not recommended for beginners.
- 87° – the most commonly used angle across skiing disciplines. Suitable for intermediate to advanced adult skiers.
- 88° and 89° – suitable for recreational skiers and children.
- 90° – for freestyle snowboards.
Use
Before using the guide, remove the plastic/phenol above the ski edge with a phenol cutter. We recommend wearing gloves when working with the guide.
Set the desired angle using a coin. The file should be oriented in the direction of sharpening, as indicated by the arrow. Apply gentle pressure to the guide at approximately a 45° angle to the edge.
After use, clean the bearings and file. After filing, remove the burr using a diamond file or stone.
