Salomon S/MAX 10 skis are a sporty carving setup for skiers who want more precision and grip than a classic recreational ski, but do not need the stiffness and demanding nature of the S/MAX 12 or race models. The 120-72-105 mm geometry and 13 m radius provide a balanced character for short and medium-length turns.

Salomon S/MAX 10 skis – Dual Core 2

The foundation is Dual Core 2, a sandwich construction with high-energy-transmission triaxial fiber and an ash insert. The aim is to increase stability and energy while reducing unnecessary weight. The S/MAX 10 is therefore not simply a softer version of the higher-end model, but uses a different approach to balancing power and accessibility.

HT Tri Axial Fiber is a densely woven fiberglass that increases torsional stiffness and therefore stability on the edge. The core also features a Ti insert, a single Titanal reinforcement for improved grip, efficient energy transfer and a livelier response.

Edge Amplifier SL and carving feel

Edge Amplifier SL is a two-piece system that, according to Salomon, provides 30% more edge grip while maintaining enough flex underfoot for agility. In practice, this technology is designed for faster edge changes and a better carving feel on groomed slopes.

Semi Sandwich Sidewalls and 100% recycled sidewalls complete the construction. The 72 mm waist is slightly wider than that of highly race-oriented skis, making the S/MAX 10 more versatile when the piste is no longer perfectly smooth in the afternoon.

Who are they designed for?

We recommend this model for intermediate to advanced and sporty skiers who want confident skiing, good control and progression in carving technique without the need for a highly demanding race construction. If you want more stiffness, Titanal and precision at higher speeds, the S/MAX 12 is the next step; if you want a more easily manageable ski, the S/MAX 10 is the more balanced choice.

The set includes skis, an Easytrak plate and M11 bindings. Our confirmed delivery remains available in 160 cm; the later 165 and 170 cm sizes have been removed due to the delay.

How to choose the right length?

When choosing the length, consider your height, weight, ability, speed and preferred type of turn. A shorter length is more playful and turns more quickly, while a longer ski offers greater stability at speed. Since we only have 160 cm in this delivery, it is important to check whether this length is suitable for your individual measurements.

Maintenance and preparation

To maintain grip, regularly check the edges and base. Edge Amplifier cannot compensate for a poorly maintained edge, so a well-prepared ski makes a significant difference on hard snow.
