Valta Jr. Merino ski socks are ideal for young skiers and snowboarders in cold conditions. Made with a four-layer construction and a high percentage of Merino wool, they provide excellent warmth, moisture management, and breathability while maintaining a medium thickness. With a warmth level of 5, they are designed for particularly cold winter days.

The foot section features an integrated heel, elastane arch support, and a seamless toe for a secure and comfortable fit without creasing. The Merino terry-knit sole adds softness, warmth, and comfort inside the ski boot throughout the day. The knee-high design extends well above the ski boot, while additional Merino cushioning around the shin provides extra comfort and absorbs moisture.

Designed for Cold Conditions

UphillSport Valta is named after a rocky mountain in northeastern Finland, where winter temperatures can be extremely demanding. Cold continental air from the east can bring very dry and freezing conditions, while changing temperatures and wind can increase the perceived cold.

Valta Jr. is designed for these challenging winter conditions. Its multi-layer construction moves moisture away from the skin, helping keep feet warm and dry. Merino wool retains air for insulation and breathability, helping protect against the cold inside the ski boot.

The high percentage of Merino wool provides excellent thermal properties, warmth, and breathability. The Merino wool is mulesing-free.

Comfort and Support

The integrated heel, elastane arch support, and seamless toe provide good midfoot support and help keep the socks securely in place without uncomfortable folds. Additional Merino cushioning around the shin improves comfort and moisture absorption, while the terry-knit Merino sole provides softness and warmth inside the boot.

The strong Lycra throughout the shaft ensures a secure fit and helps maintain stable pressure, while the knee-high design extends well above the ski boot to help prevent rubbing.

Care Instructions

All socks are machine washable at 40°C. Tumble drying is not recommended. After washing, the socks may appear smaller; reshaping them after washing is recommended for the best fit. Many models contain elastic yarn, which can make them appear smaller than they actually are. The properties of Merino wool can improve with use and washing.
